Original Song Choice

We originally wanted to create a music similar to 'Up In  The Air' by Thirty Seconds To Mars, where it is quite dysjuncted and random, to keep the audience entertained, with the use of random objects to create impressive and engaging effects to create a successful video. We decided 'Planetary GO!' by My Chemical Romance would be the best choice of song for this, because it is very upbeat with a range of speeds to experiment with effects, and has quite a techno beat to fit with the colourful theme and objects. The lyrics also don't make as much sense on the surface, other than it is very futuristic (lyrics: 'truth is now acceptable, fame is now injectable') and so we thought it gave us more freedom to play around with the video. The original music video for this also isn't very interesting, which also inspired us to make a new video. We played 'Planetary GO!' over the top of the 'Up In The Air' video and it worked very well, which is another reason we thought it was a good song choice.
